Two-step verification
Add an authenticator app so a stolen password alone is not enough to open your account.

With two-step verification on, signing in asks for your password and a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password and similar).
Turn it on
- Open Profile & settings → Security.
- Choose to turn on two-step verification.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or type the key it shows.
- Enter the code the app shows to finish.
Good to know
- Each code works once and changes every 30 seconds.
- Signing in with Google also asks for the code once it is on.
- Changing your password or two-step settings signs you out on your other devices.
If you lose access to your authenticator, contact support from the help center.
